I was in Target today and they were playing Christmas carols on the sound system. Maybe it was having just seen Zombieland the night before, but all I could think of was how I had never wanted a semi-automatic rifle so much in my entire life. Not for any people; just for the goddamned speakers.

Oh, retail Christmas. If I were a store manager, I might've broken out the carols in August. I understand, it's very tacky, but that stuff makes people start throwing money around. Or maybe seasonal goodwill does that.

Yeah, for me, though, it has the opposite effect: I find myself grinding my molars and counting the seconds until I can get out of there. Just call me Ms. Grinch, I guess.

3 weeks ago I heard them playing Christmas music in a shop here in Cairo.

I don't think they KNEW it was Christmas music, so it just made me giggle, rather than fume.
