I have this problem. Always have, so far as I can tell. I can't recognize faces.

Yeah, yeah, I know, you sometimes don't remember someone right away, either, but I'm saying this is really bad. Like, bad enough that I wonder if I have some sort of very specific visual-based mental retardation.

Oh, geez, no need to apologize. I have a pretty similar thing going. I used to joke that the reason I tended to be friends with people with tattoos and piercings and elaborate hair was that they were easy to recognize.
Worse: sometimes I know someone is familiar, and I decide they're one person I know, but they actually turn out to be someone else. For this reason, I'm hesitant to call people by name.
Anyway, good to see you, and don't think I was offended at all.

Haha! Yeah, I had a guy friend who always dated very similar-looking women. I cannot tell you how many times I called his new girlfriend by the last one's name. But anyway, thanks--and thanks for posting about Satrapi in the first place! I'm really glad I went.

Me too! I thought she'd be reading, but honestly, I can read the books anytime, and it was great to hear her just stand up there and talk.

Oh, yeah, definitely. I remember when I saw Art Spiegelman on his Maus II tour (god, I'm dating myself), he said, "I'm not going to read to you, because it's a comic book--what would be the point?"
