My cat, Sabbath, hasn't come down to the first floor for five years, not since I got the dog. The past six months, she's gotten to the point where she'll lie at the bottom of the stairs and glare at me and the dog, Henry, while we lie on the couch watching TV, but she's always needed a clear escape path in case the dog decides to eat her. ha! yes I one of the days I went over i couldn't find her at all. and then when I came back 2 days later she was on the couch. I bet she was there on the previous visit and i hadn't thought to check for her there.
