i feel your pain. most stores carry a 36A in most styles, and VS does in a few, but I think I measure a 38A. That size exists only in a "special" line for small-breasted women by Playtex called "Thank Goodness It Fits!" i mostly gave up on bras (except the sporty ones) a long time ago, but it would be nice to be able to accessorize my breasts upon occasion. :)
hey ruth... of course I remember you... after all we did a little more than hang out :) Anyway, how are you? i am fine. I don't post much here--- alas little time. anyway, let me know if you are ever in L.A.
you posted this kind of awhile ago but i've always reasoned that one answer to this question is that, by selling clothing that only certain types of people can fit into, stores can control who shops there and who wears their clothing--if everyone who shops at, say, victoria's secret, fits a certain mainstream (totally fucked up) standard of "hot", then they can maintain an image of being a store that is for people who fit that certain kind of hot--the "undesirables" will rarely be seen shopping in their stores because they don't even carry clothing that will fit said "undesirables", therefore the store's image will not be associated with those "undesirables" which will, according to a certain set of standards, aid in promoting the image of the store. therefore people will be willing to pay more because they are not just paying for a cute bra, they are paying for the name brand which is associated with a certain image that is basically policed by not selling clothing to people who don't fit that image or giving those people any reason
