We interrupt this broadcast for some Leverage squee

Aug 22, 2012 09:46

First of all, if you watch Leverage and you're not reading showrunner John Rogers' Q&A posts on his blog Kung Fu Monkey, you're seriously missing out. Even if you don't watch Leverage, if you're at all interested in the process of writing and producing for television, it's fascinating stuff ( Read more... )

Complete agreement - CANNOT wait for more Elliot backstory!

As for the Nate arc/ finale etc, I'm taking the grown up approach of sticking my fingers in my ears and going nanananana on the basis that if I don't think about it, it won't happen - right?

I'm trying to convince myself that it's just a tease. Things will maybe look bad for a bit, but at the end of the day EVERYONE WILL BE JUST FINE. They have to be.

Rogers keeps insisting he's not Whedon so ... HE BETTER NOT PULL A WHEDON is all I'm saying.

Yep - I'm *so* living by the NOT WHEDON comments he makes and just hoping that it's not some elaborate con which ends with Rogers pulling off a mask and it being Joss all along...

I'm SO living by that too -- every time I get scared about what's going on this season I'm like, BUT HE WON'T KILL NATE. HE WON'T. HE CAN'T.

So... I'm just going to cling to that with both hands. Maybe in a full body hug. BUT, when the people doing the podcast said that they were sad at the end of the season and people were crying... I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK!!!

GAH!

Oh my, I have not read that post yet but now... SQUEE! I love Eliot backstory. I mean, we've had some Hardison and we've had some Parker. There isn't anything deep and dark that needs explaining. We know Nate's history. Sophie will remain forever a mystery, but that works for her. But with Eliot... oh man! There are so many hints to things (the horse guy's daughter a few seasons back, his pal not!Casey... etc) that I desperately want to know MORE. :)

Yeah, I mean, it's not like we haven't gotten any Eliot backstory, but I want MORE. Part of it is that when a character's involved in a romantic relationship on the show, you get to see a lot of emotional development as a matter of course. But since Eliot's the only one who's not paired up with anybody, it feels like he doesn't get a lot to do beyond the usual con-related stuff. I just want to see him care about something or somebody, you know? I want to see what he's like when he's not working.

I keep telling myself that they made that ending not knowing about Season six, so he CAN'T do something irrepearable, that can't be fixed in Season six. At least, he can't kill somebody, right?

I'm pretty excited about Eliot's backstory. I was thinking that all the Kaniacs would probably be imploding with this news. :D

Also, I have the same view on spoilers as you do... and I've inadvertently "spoiled" things for people.

Though seriously, out of all the "spoilers", I think I'm the most excited to hear what Sophie's name is. Not that it matters, and most people will probably end up not happy about it, but since it gets SAID there would have to be quite the circumstance to prompt it, I think.

At this point I feel about Sophie's name the way I feel about the mother on How I Met Your Mother: they've passed the point where I stop caring. But then Sophie and Nate have never been my favorite characters, so her teasing him about her name never really did much for me.

I've been sneaking around this post...and now I've caved and read it. And I can live with it, yep.

Eliot backstory? Yes please, more of that. Eliot's family? Yes please!!!

And I love that Eliot is back to grifting this season, I felt in S4 all he was allowed to do was punching and I'm sorry for all Hardison fans, but that boy can't grift at all and did it all the time in S4. So yay!!!

As for the Nate thing...I'm doing the thing I do in my other fandom as well...I stay away from it and live happy in my bubble of ignorance. I don't think about it. At all. I'll deal with it when it's in front of me.
