I am debating with myself. Sleep or no. The kids are home from school today. I know that Ian and Anna probably stayed up quite late so they will want/need to sleep in. Molly probably went to sleep around 9:30 or 10. She won't sleep in. If I go to sleep now and Molly wakes up, she will either wake me up, wanting to make cookies, or let me sleep so she can have the house to herself, so to speak. Molly, loose while everyone sleeps. This happened one time in the not-nearly-distant-enough past and I woke to find my neighbor standing in my bedroom doorway. My male neighbor that I had probably never spoken to in the almost five years I have lived here and no I am not aloof, arrogant, stand-offish, or any other adjective you might choose to explain such behavior.

Oh. I just remembered I'm supposed to take Anna shopping this afternoon. I can't do that if I don't sleep this morning. Decision made. Molly, the house is yours.....

I'm writing while I wait for water to boil for pasta. Monday nights I prepare very simple meals because I sleep until 3 then meet Molly and friends at the bowling alley for special olympics bowling. We don't get home until a little past 5, so there isn't much time for preparation. Pasta is a favorite with me because I fix sauce during the week and keep a supply in the frig for emergency pizzas, pasta meals, or whatever. I'm also fixing (hey--there was a potato chip on my keyboard!) Italian spinach and garlic bread. It will be a poor man's garlic bread--just regular sandwich bread slices dressed up to taste like garlic bread. That's what I grew up eating as garlic bread. It wasn't until I met Tom that I knew any other form of garlic bread existed. I'd also only eating steak about twice when I met him. Now I eat no animal products.
