I remember, from when I was eight or ten, my mom telling me about how she met my dad.  She said that the first thing she noticed about him was his generosity and the fact that he didn't overdo it - he was generous but not extravagantly, never beyond his means.

Mine is notoriously "generous to a fault", always out of the best intentions. He's probably been screwed out of more money than I'll ever see in my life.
