My parents are really pissing me off. They won't let me get my license, and yeah, i've only been 16 for like a week...but damn. I'm experienced enough to get it, and they know that, they just like being assholes. They said that I have to start showing more responsibility if I want it (i.e. cleaning more shit around the house). And they talked about

to be fair, i am going to have to make contributions to the insurance when i start driving again too.

i dont think mom and dad are trying to punish you or make your life harder by asking you to be "more responsible." honestly, i don't think it even has that much to do with you and your level of maturity and more to do with mom not being able to do as much around the house as she used to and needing some help. she's told me many times this year how she feels stressed out because she is doind so much more now with her job and her work at home hasn't decreased at all. that's no one's fault - it's just the way things are right now, and i bet her and dad asking you to take on some more stuff around the house is her way of asking you for help more than anything else. try not to take it like an attack against you. me coming home for the summer doesn't mean you won't be able to drive anywhere ever. and if i recall correctly, i did help pay for insurance when i got my license, so you're not alone there.
