So looking at certain independent toy manufacturers, I'm thinking to myself

It's actually super easy to make toys, but it requires a bit of initial investment ($100+ dollars). Once you have the prototype, you can just make it using mold-making stuff found at most hobby stores, and then making the toy out of vinyl, at least that's what all the ultra low run boutique toys are made out of.

Plush toys like Ugly doll are even easier, I made two over Christmas.
