I totally read your entry. I hate livejournal for approaching personal anything (I used to think it would rock, but experience tells me it's far less fun than I thought it could be.) I will borrow your Magic cards until you have either space or use for them. Laundry's tough to do right. Maybe there's something with the machines, or the water. Re: Cali Living..How's the people situation, there? Is is much different from here?
I don't think the people are really that different. There are noticably more yuppies, and the circles I now travel in have far fewer conservatives. Some of my lack of difference-noticing may be ascribed to my belief that all people are essentially the same so I am noting similarities long before I start racking up differences. Oh and nobody out here friggin' GAMES. Come on, seriously people.
5. Hm, that's weird. Are you washing things on cold? That helps your clothes last longer. Dryers are also really hard on clothes. Also turn things inside out - like t-shirts with pictures on them.
If you post personal things, it would probably be best to vague it up. Even then, people might figure it out and then you get blowback.
People can be very sensitive to posts that resemble their situation. I've posted things that were not brought to mind by any event or person in particular and had people come up to me and ask "Why were you posting about me in livejournal!?!?"
My general theory is that if you post something that involves your dealings with another person, it'll get back to them regardless of how many filters you try to put on it.
As such, I think the best way to handle it, is not to really mention things that might upset other people. For my own journal, the only time I friends lock anything is if I want to mention something about work, but I rarely talk about work because my job isn't that exciting, and I wouldn't want to get in trouble for talking about it.

So my plan to send you magic cards is a bad one.
