Needles in the spine are indeed freaky and worse so when not on camera. Has the cortisone had any effect yet? Less pain may make the needle worth it.

I do feel a bit better today. I can still only sleep on my left side, but if I try lying on my back it doesn't hurt so badly. I walked a few blocks between offices today and the pain was down some too.

I had it done around 2:30pm Monday and the doc said it takes a day or two for the effects to kick in.

The only weird thing is my right forefinger has a light rash on it. The only thing I can think of is that was the finger they put the blood pressure monitor on while they were sticking me.

For scale that's a 22 gauge 3 1/2 inch needle. About 1/2 an inch is not in me.

Do they give you pain killers before they do it?

They gave me a local anaesthetic for the needle.
Sometimes my brontosaur neuron comes in handy.
