When you fall in love, all you will notice is that person. When you dream, you’re dreaming of him. When you think, you’re thinking of him. When you talk, you’re talking about him. And you will always miss him, even if you just saw him.
Ueda learned it the hard way. At first, he thought it was just a phase but when the dream became frequent and he just can’t stop thinking of Ryo, he thought, maybe he was sick. Why did he even think about Ryo, of all people? I mean, come on, that guy was down right mean to him, always insulting him and it seemed that everything that he did was no good at all, according to Ryo. So, why did he think about Ryo so much? So, he concludes, that might be because Ryo was always insulting him, so he is thinking ways to retort those insults and thus, he’s thinking of Ryo.
Then, the missing began. The first time he started missing Ryo, he thought it might be because of something that he ate that morning for breakfast. Because he was so sure he did not like Ryo, not like that, and certainly he was not missing Ryo. But as the day passes by, he became reckless. He was so used to Ryo insulting him, mocking him that when Ryo was gone, he started longing to hear Ryo voice. It really didn’t help that Ryo will be gone for 3 weeks because of his commitment to Kanjani 8. And the day Ryo came back to Tokyo, and of course started insulting him again, he just had to smile to himself. And he felt contented through out the day.
It seem that it have become a routine. At night, he will start thinking of Ryo and his satisfied smirk after he insulted Ueda, then, when he sleeps, he started to dream about Ryo and the cute smile he always show his friends but never to Ueda. When Ryo was away, he started missing him, all though he can’t say the same for Ryo’s insults; he just missed seeing Ryo face. And it became heartache for him, thinking that they will never be more than enemies, that he will never hold a special place in Ryo’s heart because he is certain that Ryo despises him.

When you fall in love, you always want to see him. When you see him smile, you feel like blushing. When you hear his voice, your heart skips a beat. When he looks your way, you can’t seem to tear your eyes from him. When he laughs, it feels like he is singing to you, sings that oh so wonderful songs. And without him around, you’re starting to miss him so much, that you can’t wait another second to seek him, just to see him.
Ryo knew he acted like a jerk in front of Ueda. He insulted him, mocking him at every chance he got. But that doesn’t mean that he did not like Ueda. Oh no, it’s not because he did not like Ueda. If anything, he likes Ueda very much, so much that we can say that he is in love with Ueda but he has a poor way of showing his love-a very poor way.
At first, the insults began because he finds Ueda annoying; the blond hair, the get up, the emo and his sensitivity. All of that annoyed him, but as time passed by, it had become a habit-a habit that was very hard to break.
And when Ueda change his hairstyle, using his original hair color, it only made Ryo’s heart beat faster than usual. Those black locks frame nicely around Ueda fair face, and when he sees Ueda smiles, it seems as if his whole face lit up, making him more beautiful than he already is. And those smiles make Ryo’s heart ache because he knows that those smiles will never be directed to him. He is certain that Ueda hates him because Ryo was always being mean to him.
It’s not as if he did not try to be less insulting towards Ueda. He really did try, but every times he faces Ueda, all the attempts to be civil fly through the window. He feels like he is a five-year-old kid trying to get the attention from the person he likes by insulting that person.

“I think I’m in love, Kame.” One day, Ueda decided to confess his feeling. Who else would be willing to listen and understand him if not Kamenashi Kazuya, his close friend.
“That’s good Tat-chan. I’m glad for you. So, who is the lucky person?” Kame asked, smiling to Ueda.
“That’s the thing, Kame. I don’t think I supposed to fall for him but I did anyway, and it bugs me and I don’t know what to do. Please help me?” Ueda said with a pleading glance.
“You know I’ll help you if I can. Now, why don’t you tell me who he is, and we go from there? Is that okay with you?” Ueda just nodded.
“It’s Nishikido,” Ueda mumbled. “Tat-chan, can you speak a bit louder please. I can’t hear you.”
“It’s Nishikido,” Ueda said with a louder voice this time. “I’m in love with Nishikido Ryo.”
Kame just looked at Ueda, a bit shocked. “The Nishikido Ryo that has always insulted you; makes you cry and frustrated? The same man that was always mean to you? The Nishikido Ryo that is Jin’s and Pi’s best friend?” Ueda just nodded weakly.
“I don’t know what to do, Kame. I tried to push this feeling aside, I tried to forget him but I can’t. It’s getting stronger and stronger each time I tried to push it away.”
“Then, embrace it Tat-chan, embrace your feeling. Love is a wonderful thing. Don’t try to push it away. Just accept the love you feel for him and everything will be fine.”
“But Kame, why does it hurt every time he insults me? It hurts when I think about him because I know it is impossible for him to like me. And it hurts when I think that he might hook up with someone one day and that someone will certainly not be me.”
Kame sighed. “Love is that way, Tat-chan. It makes you feel happy and it also makes you feel sad. It gives you laughter and it also gives you despair. But love is a gift, not many people have this gift and I want you to treasure this gift even though it hurts you sometimes. And one day, when you think back you will be glad that you have learned how to love someone, because love can teach us a lot of things.”
Ueda just nodded. “You know, you are the youngest in our band but yet it seems like you are the most understanding compared to us all.” Ueda said to Kame.
“Now, don’t you worry about love, okay? If he is the one for you, love will find a way into each of your hearts. Let us enjoy today since our schedule is not that hectic.” Then, Kame and Ueda walked out of the dressing room to find the rest of KAT-TUN.
At the same time, Ryo tried to hide when he heard both Kame and Ueda walking out of KAT TUN dressing room. At first, he was just passing by the said room when he heard both of them talking. Curious to know what they have been talking about, he leaned closer to the door. His heart clenched when he heard Ueda’s confession of love. The thought to try to mend things with Ueda seemed to be flying from his mind. He thought he didn’t have any chance with Ueda now that the other man is in love with someone else.
But when his name was mentioned, he regained hope. Hope to be with the beautiful looking man. And after the conversation finished, he began to formulate a plan-a plan to mend things with Ueda, to try to confess and make Ueda his. But first, he needs to get Ueda alone.

Ueda was just thinking along the hallway, remembering the conversation that happened between him and Kame before. If he is the one for you, love will find a way into each of your hearts, how he wishes that to come true.
Suddenly, without any warning, he was pulled into the janitor’s closet by a rough hand.
“What the hell? Nishikido! What the heck are you doing? And why are we in the janitor’s closet?” Ueda yelled at the person who pulled him into the said room.
“Look, I want to talk to you, okay? And I think in this room we can have a private talk without any interference from your or my band mates.” Ryo explained.
“But why did it have to be in the JANITOR’S closet? Can you try to find more suitable room?” Ueda said while tapping his shoe, waiting for Ryo’s answer.
“Yeah, well, this is kind of one time thing okay. I did not plan to end up in here too. It was just so hard to get you alone and I don’t want to waste any opportunity so I just took it, no matter where we ended.”
Ueda just rolled his eyes. “You want to talk to me, so…talk.”
“Well…I…umm…I…” For the first time, Ryo was unable to talk incoherently. Ueda finds it cute, watching Ryo fidgeting, trying to talk to him.
“Just spit it out Nishikido. What do you want?” Unable to confess to Ueda through words, Ryo immediately went to option two. All of the sudden, he trapped Ueda between himself and the door and started to kiss the latter hungrily. Ueda was so shocked that he forgot to move but after a few seconds, he started to respond to the kiss. That is until he remembered who kissed him.
“What is the meaning of this, Nishikido?” Ueda demanded angrily.
“Well, what I was trying to say is that I think I’m in love with you. No, I know I’m in love with you. And I want you. Do you think we can be together?”
“Is this a trick?” Ueda asked, his eyes narrowing slightly, although we can’t say the same to his heart which is now dancing with glee.
“No, this is not a trick. I love you. I have been in love with you for quite a time actually. And I really want to be with you. Please, give me a chance to prove it? I will be the best boyfriend you could hope for.” Ryo said, almost pleading.
Seeing the sincere look that Ryo gave him, Ueda decided to follow his heart. After all, didn’t Kame said before that love will find a way into each of his and Ryo heart? And it seems to be the truth after all.
“Well then please allow me to do this,” And Ueda just grab the collar of Ryo’s shirt and started to kiss him passionately.
