Down Where I Am

I'm at work listening to the song "Down Where I Am" by Demons & Wizards and I notice something. The song, according to Jon Schaffer, is about a father's feelings towards his newborn son that has Down's Syndrome. I always thought the song was from the father's point of view but now I'm not so sure. I think below lines are actually from the newborn ( Read more... )

Or it could be that the father is so depressed/angry/negative at the moment that he just wants nothing to do with his son. I'm just hoping it's not about Jonas or if Jon had some kid or something, but who cares about Jon here, lol!

As far as I'm concerned, he can have Accountant Jr. and Jonas too so that I can bear seven sons and prove that Hansi is Fëanor reborn!

It's just a hypothetical song, if you will. Neither of them actually have a Down's syndrome child.
