At least 80 homes have been evacuated, with 23 already destroyed, in the area of Bastrop State Park. Several businesses have also been lost including at least 30 antique shops at the Alum Creek Center.

Bastrop State Park is about ten miles from our house with the woods that are on fire leading up to our subdivision.

Is it sad to say that the loss of the antique stores had more of an impact on me than the homes?
Of course, the homes likely had insurance and is worth more burned down than not if your housing crisis is anything like here.
