Can't you just write "For Deposit Only" on the back?

So what are you supposed to do with it? Take it to a check cashing place?

Frame it and hang it on the wall?
Give it to the mice so they can use it for bedding?
File it in the compost drawer for a few months and see what it grows up into?
Put it on a pike in front of the bank as a warning to others?
