More Resume Angst

I think my resume is complete, except for one bit: The first line.
"Professional IT generalist with over thirteen years experience performing a wide variety of IT tasks"
Is the perfect line for the job I have now.  There are so few of us handling so many systems that we all have to be everything: database programmers, printer repairmen, network ( Read more... )

It needs to include "analyst" or "manager" because that's the job you're describing. I get asked to do the same thing, and my title is Lead Application Developer, so job titles don't always match. "Manager" implies supervising other people though, so I don't know if you want to go there.

BTW, I know what you mean about everybody having to be everything. At a conference I attended Wednesday morning downtown of government IT people, the moderator of one of the panels said, "We've all got our 'Do More With Less' tattoos. We got a bulk discount." I'm so sick of that phrase! How about you hire more people!

How about:

"IT specialist with thirteen years' broad-based experience and a deep knowledge of both traditional and developing IT applications and solutions."
