I've been online since about 1989. This was my personal blog for my family and friends spread throughout the world. I've maintained this LJ from May 2001 to March 2008 until some people insisted on pissing in the pool... so we left. I used to write regulary here too. It was so much fun... while it lasted. Now it's pretty much dead here.

As of ( Read more... )

Hey... thank you for your comment. IF I were you I would definitely attend HPU if you can. They have good programs there and the classes are small.

Hi! There were a couple of posts about the Hawaiian language in the linguaphiles community recently, and I recommended that the posters invite you to come comment. I don't think they did.

You can see the thread right here. Your friend maldito is there. :-)

Aloha Fellow Hawaiian!
I'm not too good with the LJ thing and i LOVE your layout. Perhaps you could give me some help with mine or i could have your overrides. I don't want to sound needy or demanding, this stuff just blows my mind.

Actually I used the default option for "Component" then changed the color. I didn't use any overrides but if you want more help you can always check out component_help. It has alot of hints but mine is just a plain Component with pink and black for the colors.

Hi. I didn't know that my online journal was listed but my real name is Lana. You don't need to call me "Haole" but "Haole Girl" is my nickname from my grand uncle.

As far as the Chippewa, I have read some things about the struggles and I'm biased when it comes to native people. Just so you know. Anyway I hope you see this and thanks for commenting! L :)

Aloha kaoa,
I love what you are doing to promote the Hawaiian culture and people. I just recently moved to Oahu and, although I'm haole, have been educating myself about Hawaiian music, folktales and trying to learn the language.

Hey... thank you for even responding to my post. I'm not sure how you are enjoying Hawai'i so far but I hope that you enjoy everything that it has to offer and hopefully give something back. Anyway my Better Half is haole too and I have no problem with haole people as I am part haole. I think you will find that common in the islands where people are of mixed ethnicities.

Anyway thank you. For someone to even want to learn about another culture and perhaps its language... that's pretty cool! :)

Learning about other cultures seems, at times, as important as learning about your own. As for Oahu and how I am enjoying it... I love it. I love the people, all of the people. As an example yesterday befor work I was sitting at Alo Moana at street level practicing my ukulele and someones grandma smiled and told me to play louder. I enjoy Hawaii much more than where I grew up, Los Angeles. Maybe because it's all new.
