So, they haven't really had a chance to intermingle. My grandma and grandpa got together in 1940. My grandma was white and my grandpa was Asian. My grandma was 17 and pregnant with someone's baby, when my grandpa met her and thought she should be married and taken care of because her parents kicked her out if she didn't want to go away and give the baby up for adoption. My grandma and grandpa got the worst treatment from my great grandparents, but when my grandpa died in 1955, and my grandma was left with 5 kids to take care of...my greatgrandparents told my grandma that my grandpa was the best son-in-law they could have had.
