Apparently there were some scientists in the crowd, who had a snicker at the Ingrid Bergman banter.
I enjoyed the talking as much as the songs. Billy Bragg is a storyteller with a sharp wit. Seeing him up on stage, strumming his guitar (which is apparently not a musical instrument), or talking to the audience, is something special. The stirring of the crowd during 'All you Fascists Are Bound To Lose', the audience sing-along of 'A New England' with an extra verse, the updated 'Great Leap Forward', were all such unique moments. Not to mention the moment when many members of the crowd raised their fists for 'There is Power in a Union'.
I too think there is power in a sandwich. Especially if you risk your life - and get stuck in AA - to get one.

And only Billy Bragg could pull off drinking tea during the show. Tea 'recommended' to him by Morrisey.

I found 'Levi Stubbs' Tears' moving - I don't think I realised what it was about until last night. (The Ingrid Bergman section was hilarious.)

Ingrid Bergman *was* hilarious. I want to intone everything the way Billy Bragg does now. But I don't think I'll say 'tumescence'.
'Levi Stubbs' Tears' was so beautifully performed.
