Drug legalization discussion (continued from Twitter)
It was becoming difficult to have this conversation in Twitter, so I'm moving it here....
Topic: Should drugs be legal?
Sub-topics: Which ones? Why/Why not?
My take: all drugs should be legalized. It is absolutely not the government's place to tell us what we can or cannot do with our bodies. As long as it is not harming others, an individual should be allowed to do whatever they want. If there are side effects (e.g. drunk driving) then make them illegal, not the drug in question.
Note: I don't even remember the last time that I "partook" of any illegal substance (and when I did, the only non-alcoholic or prescribed drug I've ever used is marijuana) so this has basically nothing to do with a desire to do drugs and is more of a general "leave me the fuck alone" attitude towards the government (see, also: my views on speeding tickets).
