When??? this evening
Who??? Weavile & Mask, UNHACKABLE!!!!

Mr. Mask finished filling in a form, and shoved all his work into his one drawer that was filled with important looking documents. He grinned happily and jumped from his desk across the room to his coat rack, that held no coats ( Read more... )

Closing his office door behind him, Weavile clutched his briefcase as he walked through the halls. Turning a corner, he noticed the other counselor coming his way. Waving with his free hand, he greeted, "Hello, Mask."

With a few strides, Weavile had caught up with the other man and they continued walking. "How has your day been?" Weavile was never one for idle chit-chat, but he figured he should try since Mask was being so hospitable. He didn't even bother asking about the giant, seemingly out of place, backpack.

Mask smiled, "Oh my day has been fine! Nothing special though!" he laughed, "Except now that is! So, shall we get on our way? We want to get to the Stop before the Poes!" the man commented as he began to lead the way out of the school.

Weavile simply blinked and followed Mask, having no idea what he was talking about. "That's good..." he replied. "My day has been relatively the same."

He was about to continue when he heard a faint growling noise coming from... Mask's box? Ears twitching slightly, he thought better than to say anything. Arcaeus only knew what Mask had in there...

Mask also heard the growl and he scowled, which is a rare sight indeed. He quickly and swiftly shook the box, and snarled back at it himself. These actions stifled the box's noises.

"I'm sorry, Weavile," he smiled in a nervous way as he looked at the pokemon, "You don't know what a Poe is do you?"

"That does sound fascinating. Perhaps you could show me a few when we get to your house?" Weavile suggested. Although his tone was level, he was truly intruiged. To think Mask had artifacts that could give the wearer special abilities and even transform the wearer...

Well, it really shouldn't have been all that surprising, Weavile mentally snorted. There were so many mysteries surrounding Mask, it was hard to have any expectations at all.

"Oh, yes indeed, Weavile," the man grinned big before nearly skipping across the street and taking another sharp turn ( ... )

Weavile watched the whole occurrence in a state of disbelief and excitement. It was like watching a movie he didn't know about, not quite sure what to expect but waiting anxiously for the next scene to start. Words didn't even begin the describe the sight before him. All Weavile could do was wait and watch Mask's next move.

Terms like 'soaring stone' and 'poe master' passed through Weavile's head. More things to be cataloged for later. But for now... it seemed as though Mask was looking at him expectantly. "I... see..." was all he could muster.

He probably shouldn't have been as flabbergasted as he was. After all, this probably was normal for Mask's home world. And Weavile was sure that some of the ordinary things from Sinnoh would surprise Mask as well. Weavile was just having a difficult time filtering in all the new information that was a part of Mask.

Mask smirked, Weavile was obviously confused.

"I'll lend you a book, how's about that? It will.... be easier to understand if you read about it," he laughed. The swirl of feathers and wind began to die down, and when they dispersed, the pair, and Poe Master were standing in a small, bustling courtyard, full of many stands which were selling random supplies for battle or recreation.

Sellers could be heard yelling out, "Ten arrows for 5 rupees!" "Bombs by the barrel!" and "Red Potion! Get yer Red Potion!"

Mask patted Weavile on the back, knowing that this was a bit much to absorb all at once, "Welcome to the Hyrule Palace Market Square!" he smiled and began to walk toward an alley, "The house is this way!" he waved forward and pointed around a corner.

"I'm sorry it has taken so long, but Mildred said she had prepared some Wild Cuckoo this evening." he sighed, "I told her I'd cook, but she just loves entertaining guests!" he shrugged and led the way.

The Poe Master seemed to have disappeared into the crowd.

Weavile was glad he brought up a happy topic for Mask to talk about. The other man was quite odd at times, but it was nice to know that there were little things that he enjoyed as well.

"Are there any that are you favorites?" he asked. Perhaps if he knew why Mask favored particular masks to others, it would help to unravel some of the mysteries surrounding the other counselor. Plus, Weavile was just genuinely interested.

Mask finished chewing a bite of his meal, "Well, I'll always have a special spot for that one up on the wall," Mask pointed with his fork to a small mask which was golden, red, blue, and green. It had some complex designs on it.

"It was my first one!" he grinned, "And I do the Keaton's Mask, that one has a bit of odd legend attached to it," he sighed, in a some weird little memories of his.

Weavile glanced over at the mask which was pointed out. It was a very impressive one, though that could be said for most the masks in the large collection.

"The Keaton mask? Do you have that one hanging up somewhere?" He was a bit curious as to the legend attached. But he figured that was enough of a hint for Mask to continue speaking about it.

"Afraid not," he shrugged, "I keep that one on the wall at school. "It's a more friendly one for the kids. I also have the Bunny Hood, Postman's Hat, and Romani's Mask at my office. They aren't as scary as some others," he explained.

"Anything else about masks or otherwise I might assist in clearing up for you?" the man offered, since he figured that if he began to ramble about masks, then most of it would go over Weavile's head.

As Mask sat by the organ, Weavile settled into a relatively cluttered couch nearby. He had to move a few books and papers, but he managed to find the soft cushion beneath.

All throughout the story, the pokemon counselor watched silently in amusement. The legend itself was interesting, but Weavile was more entertained by Mask's organ playing. Mask was actually pretty good, which didn't surprise Weavile as much as it probably should have. He was getting too used to Mask's quirks yet again.

When the story was over, Weavile paused before asking, "How long have you played the organ?"

Admittedly, Mask had not expected that question to come first. He was thinking Weavile would ask something like, "What's a stal-army?"

But the organ was fine.

"I've been playing it since I was... ten!" he declared, "I started on the piano though," he shrugged.

"What about you? You have any special talents?" he asked.

"That's quite a skill you have," Weavile nodded towards the instrument. "You're quite good. I wouldn't mind listening to you play some more."

He fell silent when asked about any special abilities. To be honest, Weavile didn't think of himself as a talented person. The things he enjoyed to do didn't really seem all that difficult to him, such as reading and the art of psychology. He supposed some of his pokemon skills could count, but those were certainly not one in a million. A slight frown flit across his lips, "I can't say that I do..."

"Aw," Mask started in the song, Elegy of Emptiness, "I'm sure you have some sort of skill!" he commented.

"Everyone's got a talent, whether or not they know it!" he smiled as his fingers scrambled over the keys. From the tank behind the two, the Zoran baby, Miruto could be heard giving off a soft hum to the song.
