A couple things have been all over the media, and, because they have to do with gender, pretty much everyone's been fucking up when reporting them. This is pissing me off

I missed the "fine" bullshit, but mainly because I was focused on the freaking out of the Big Tough Misogynist Menz of the Advertising World. Baaaawwwww. I especially like how "Libertarians4Freedom" wants to control other people's gender expression. Oh, wait, I forgot, "freedom" is only for straight cis white men who are the "right" kind of xtian.
Also, did you see this? The ads are in your area. Ugh. Plus of course the aforementioned Manly Men telling everybody else that they're overreacting, because we all know womens is lying whores anyway.
Yeah, whoever wrote that first article just seems... Confused. Was that just like, the first picture of a skull they could come across?
I've only seen people freaking out about that ad, but never the ad itself. I just think it's cute! What kid wouldn't be delighted at the realization that one can turn one's toenails any color of the rainbow? And painting your nails shouldn't run along gender lines in any sense, because it's just fun. And gives you something to examine in idle moments.
(Also, your mention of Essie reminded me that I've been lusting after their Dive Bar shade. It's teal and purple!)
Also, the "omg making kids trans" party really needs to look into the biology of the stria terminalis.
But I'd imagine that, as you more or less say, it's not even that they're thinking about it in such nuanced terms. It's probably more like "omg, that's weird and faggy and he'll grow up to be weird and faggy".
I know I get away with a lot more genderqueerness where I am now than where I used to live. Though I figure I'll likely get bashed a some point or another. We sound pretty similar in presentation: "Lots of both and neither, but with eyeliner involved".

Also, "fine" means "a decent human being" in my opinion. UGH.

Dive Bar looks pretty excellent. I've got Coat Azure on now, and it's all shimmery and happymaking.

LOL agreed. Oh no, celebrating trans children! It's almost like they think being trans isn't something to be ashamed of!

My only issue with "celebrating transgendered children" is that "transgender" is the correct terminology. :P

I managed to go off on a vituperative rant about the painted toenails to ms_daisy_cutter which I shall repeat here ( ... )
