Pretty much everyone knows about witch trials. The European ones, Salem, etc. They even make movies for kids with the subject as a central plot point. (ParaNorman was pretty good.) We're guest's here. And it's so uncouth to air our personal triggers unless it's entertaining to the hostess That's said to apologize if I've unwittingly stepped on a semantic bomb I'd not known was an issue. But?

I'm 50something years old. I'd heard the term as I used it- spoken of by family friends when I was in grade school. We'd been taught it and a whole shedload of related concepts to raise awareness of how many other paths folks live on. And so, I'd give a mutual "no harm intended, no foul in any direction" ending. Comments?

This is a fantastic write-up, and we need to keep in mind stuff like this still happens. Why you don't have a newspaper column, I'll never know, you've got the talent....

Aww, thank you! I think it might have to do my with extremely sporadic writing, and the lack of newspapers willing to accept a column centred on "things I think about in the bathroom".
