Ok, ok.. so I haven't been wasting my "vacation" before everything takes off full throttle being a complete blob. I've done a couple things from my 101 List!
I originally had 150 on my list. Quickly I realized that was psychotic with classes and work. Maybe if I did nothing but read 24/7, but I occasionally like to partake in having a social life. I may laugh at myself if I do end up reading 150 books by the end of it.
One memory I recall so well from childhood: we were sitting in the living room and on the news came the alert that the Ayatollah Khomeini from Iran set out a price on the head of Salman Rushdie. My parents, who rarely read a book, raised their brows and my dad rushed out to pick up a copy. We still have the copy. I'm sure it's unread and dusty.
I read through your wild and creative list--it sounds like it should be a prescription for good living. You are so alive and passionate, it's no wonder you are so inspiring to those around you.
Way to be productive! Go you. I started reading with enthusiasm and sort of trailed off; For Whom the Bell Tolls has either been buried under something or eaten by the dog. The second book you mention sounds like a really interesting read.
I have only been to Quiznos once when I was on a trip, but since there's one in Lockport now I think I need to give it a shot sometime.
ALSO, thank you for giving me something to look forward to this week! I was just sitting here wallowing in my despair (okay, not as dramatically as I make that sound) about having nothing but a lot of work to look forward to... but LETTER! Yay snail mail! (And I have stationery materials waiting to send you a reply too ;)).
It is! And it doesn't require consistency to remember what happened since it's like lots of little mini-stories (but chronologically told..), so you could even read it as a break from other books!
Yes. i know you'll be sitting by the mailbox, waiting for my letter. hahah, forget that you have a military bf, it's all about my Dear John letters.
What's with bourbon mustard, lately I see all these burger places advertising it. I must go out and try it now. I wish we had Quizno's here, but for now I'll have to stick to Subway.
