Summary: Yunho was waiting for his mama to fetch him from his afternoon school, but it seems a stranger talks to him. He remembers what his mama told him always before leaving him to his class.
“Mama says I should not talk to strangers.” Little Yunho was busy eating his ice cream while waiting for his mama’s car to arrive and fetch him when a high school girl came near to him. She has tried to talk to him for a while now, already trying to engage Yunho in a conversation once he got out of his classroom and waited in front of the school for his mama.
“But I am no stranger, Yunho. I’m your mama’s younger sister.” The girl smiled at him as she tried to approach the five year-old kid in a nicer way. Her sibling told her to fetch her nephew this afternoon after their class because his mama would still be in the meeting until four in the afternoon. So to save Yunho from absolute boredom waiting for his mama for thirty more minutes, Soobin accepted his mama’s favor.
“But I don’t know you. I don’t think my mama mentioned you to me.” Yunho pouted as he thinks deeply trying to remember if his mama told him stories about his aunts and uncles.
“You know me Yunho-yah. I’ve always play with you with your crocodile plushie when you were three.”
Oh, Mr. Green!
Before Yunho could ask how she knew about his Mr. Green a silver Audi parked in front of the school’s gate, getting the other two’s attention. Yunho recognized the person who got out of the driver’s seat and instantly runs to him.
“Mama!”
His mama smiled at him and reached for Yunho as the young boy enclosed his mama with his signature bear hug. Soobin watched as the other person carry the pre-school kid. She walked up to them and bowed to him.
“Oppa, haven’t you introduced me to your son?” As said, her brother laughed as he was reminded that these two haven’t really had a formal meeting, except when they have play time together with Mr. Green when Yunho was still a toddler.
“Right, Yunnie, this is your aunt Soobin. She is my younger sister. You do recognize her, do you?” Yunho tried to put a point on what his mama says, as he remembers the times when he plays with an unknown girl older than him. He does recognize her a bit, but since his memories started really when he was thrown in a swing by a playmate when he was four years old, he can’t remember the face of his noona playmate.
“Hello aunt Soobin.” Yunho’s cheeky smiled flashed before the young lady as she pinch his chubby cheeks. Then that’s when he remembers the reason why she agreed to meet with her nephew.
“Oh right. Jaejoong oppa, umma wants you and Yunho to have dinner tonight at home. Sooyoung unnie just arrived yesterday.” Jaejoong looked at his younger sister while he puts Yunho at his seat at the back while Soobin sits in the front passenger seat.
“Sure. I haven’t cooked a pre-dinner for Yunho so we’ll just go straight there. And I thought noona is going to have a month-long vacation so why the sudden?” Jaejoong asked while he puts on his seat belt and starts the car.
“She just finds Paris lonesome because she doesn’t have a boyfriend to spend her vacation at the city of lovers.” Jaejoong laughs at his sister’s statement while checking the mirror if Yunho’s behaving at the back seat.
“Mama?” Yunho chirped in.
“Yes baby?”
“Why is Paris called the city of lovers?” Yunho asks his mama while he was trying to make the lion stuffed toy and the teddy bear having an imaginary fight.
“Because it’s a romantic place, sweetie. People spend their time there with their loved ones.” He fills in his son’s curiosity. Jaejoong find no problem in his explanation. Yunho sometimes question him about the most random things when he hears his mama in a telephone conversation with his friends or business partners, and sometimes when his classmates’ mothers join in for an afternoon tea with his mama at their backyard.
“Does Yunho have any plans to go there someday?” Soobin asks her nephew, letting her brother drive without his son’s questions about Paris and boats and lovers.
“Yes, I will go there someday!” Yunho giggles as he made his teddy bear and lion plushie hug each other, but in a friendly way.
“Really? Who do you want to go with?”
“Hmm.. I want to go there and ride those wooden boats with mama. Maybe eat breads too.” Yunho giggles more as he smiles at his auntie.
“But why? Don’t you have any crush in your classroom or any pretty kid you want to play with?” Soobin turns around to look at the chubby kid who is still busy making two stuffed toys dance at his lap. Well Yunho is still young to think about lovers and romantic type of dreams. Yunho is just like any other kid there who loves their parents just like how their parents love them back.
“Seohyun’s the cutest girl in our room. But I think of her as my younger sister just like whenever we play house during our free time. And Mama would be the best company there in Paris because Mama knows a lot about Paris.”
Wow, Yunho’s answer is not really what Soobin expected.
