July 4 ponderings
I work at a large medical center on the East river in Manhattan. I sat last night on the pediatric unit looking out over the East River watching the Macys Fireworks. We had the best seats in Manhattan. On my left was a 19 year old kid paralyzed from the neck down from a gun shot wound and on my right was a 16 year old with a traumatic brain injury
