I went to the Paralympics and it was awesome!
The first day i went to a morning swimming session. Arriving at the Olympic park was really exciting, despite the fact is was raining and so misty you couldn't even see the stadium XD i was also really impressed with the organisation in getting so many people from Stratford station into the Park, it was very efficient and i hardly had to queue at all, very unusual for an event in the UK ;)
I had a seat up in the rafters of the Aquatics Centre and had to climb approximately a million steps to get there, and once i was sitting down i had a jelly legs moment XD however the view was still very good and i could see the action pretty well :)
it was really exciting, i loved how the crowd got really into it, cheering all the Brits and also cheering whoever was coming last until they finished, which made me a bit emotional!
As it was the first day of the Paralympics i saw all the heats rather than finals, however it was still brilliant as there were a lot of Brits who qualified for the final and also four Paralympic and two World Records were broken, and that was just in the heats!
After the swimming finished i wandered round the Park taking photos and went in the MEGASTORE which sold all things Olympic and Paralympic, then met up with my friend Emma who was working as a Lifeguard in the Aquatics Centre, which was awesome as i hadn't seen her for months :)
Day Two i went to the evening session of Athletics with my dad. He wanted to go early to look around so i got to look around again XD as we had quite a bit of time until the session started we had a drink (i had some very expensive Pimms and he had a beer lol) then we had some very expensive food and went in to the stadium for 7pm.
Athletics was really interesting, the field and track events were happening at the same time so there was a lot to watch! Again our seats were really high up but we could see ok, we were sitting in the middle of the back straight right by the long jump pit so had a great view of the men's long jump final :)
There were also hammer and discus finals going on, as well as loads of track heats and finals. One of the most exciting was the women's 100m final won by Hannah Cockroft, so we all went mad cheering her when she won! We also got to see her medal ceremony and stood up to sing the national anthem :D
This also made me lol XD
Day Three Seran and I had tickets to Goalball in the afternoon, however the tickets included a Day Pass which mean we could go to see other things like Basketball, Football etc if there were spaces.
Goalball was really interesting as it's designed for visually impaired people so it's all based on sound and the crowd have to be totally silent while the ball is in play so the players can hear where it is. We found this difficult whenever there was a near miss on goal and got told off by the referee XD the players use a lot of tactics like spinning around before throwing the ball to confuse the opposition. We saw two games, Sweden versus Canada and Japan versus the USA. Sweden and Japan won :)
Later on we got in to see a women's basketball game between Australia and Canada. We were supporting Canada as Australia were ahead of us in the medal table XD Canada lead almost the entire game but there were only a couple of points in it the whole way through to it was pretty exciting and tense until the very end :D
After the game we went home and collapsed and ate pizza XD
