waaaait... where? Monza?
I'd love to come back to Milan one of these days, have been missing it ever since I moved to Rome early last year. If you are indeed going to Monza and have any spare time, try to go to Lake Como (the middle of it, not just the town of Como at its southern end) - amazing place, so long as it is not raining nonstop. And of course spend a day in Milan itself - not all of it is beautiful but it's worth it if only for the Duomo (where the best thing is going up to the roof) and the aperitivi (the areas around San Lorenzo and Navigli, as well as Brera, are good for those). On the other hand, if you happen to be anywhere near Rome, we could meet for a drink or two.

Yep it's in Monza. Only really going for the Grand Prix but will have Friday and a bit of Monday for sightseeing things. Defo gonna have a look round Milan at least, and we've got tickets to go and see The Last Supper cos i'm going with my mum and she did a History of Art degree so she loves that sort of thing ;)

Thanks for the tips, I'm sure we'll visit the cathedral; it's not a proper holiday unless you go 'in and up' something!

I am v. excited *bounces*

I've been to the Monza track once - in my happy Milan MBA days we had a crazy guy in my class who was the son of a rich Colombian (banker, apparently, not what you may have thought) - not a bad guy though he had an IQ of about 50 and an opinion of his abilities that was way higher than that - anyway, this guy's hobbies included DJ'ing and race car driving, and he was actually on the Audi team (as some sort of backup I guess) - this was GT, not Formula 1 - and one day he was racing and invited us to watch. He did not exactly give a great performance but the trip was fun ( ... )

I have now returned :) The Last Supper was defo worth a look, it was pretty impressive to look at it and think about how old it is. We did make it up onto the roof of the Duomo, and many, many photos were taken ;)

Also wandered round the castle and i didn't think it at the time, but yes, it does remind me of the Kremlin. We also went round 'the gold quarter' (i forget what the Italian is now!) where all the designer shops are, and round both the big parks, and also went down to look at the canal by Porta Genova.

It was indeed very sunny and i am a little crispy and red :S

(Also the race was very exciting and we got to run onto the track at the end - this *really* only could happen in Italy lol)
