However, I think some of the examples used above did not entirely fit - the ex-Mr Incredible fanboy turned super-villain is clearly an evil character, which while most may recognise his motivation (empathy is an important Human trait), I think most would also see that his actions are bad. Again, Gaston, whilst fitting the ultra-male sexist stereotype, is clearly the villain. Therefore, you could argue that in this case Disney is again not promoting the behaviour & character. It is true though that most Disney heroes are strong & bold. But this is also true throughout much of Human legend. Obviously because of the dominance of males over females for many centuries, there haven't been too many female heroines, & even now where there are in popular fiction, they are usually sexualised, & have very 'male' characteristics of strength, aggression, fighting skill etc. My point is it's not just ( ... )
