Sometimes Yesung cries in his sleep, tears streaking down his pale cheeks and soaking into his pillow. And usually, no one notices. Usually, but sometimes, just sometimes, when he cries someone comes and wipes his tears away. And he can feel it he can feel it even though he never stirs. His heart races and his mind instantly calms itself, yet he never wakes up until the morning. He wants to know who it is, but he’s too afraid to ask. He doesn’t want to seem weaker than he really is, at least not to everyone else.
Then one night, for some reason, he’s crying awake. And he sees Siwon walk through the door, walk over to him.
“Siwon?” he asks quietly, and the other freezes.
“You’re awake,” Siwon replies quietly and Yesung sits up and nods. Siwon still walks over to him, sitting on the edge of his bed.
“Why were you crying?” he asks quietly, and Yesung shrugs.
“I really don’t know…sometimes I just have these dreams…and they’re…horrible. I don’t even remember what I saw it just hurts my heart in a way…like I can’t describe it. All I know is…in the dreams, people leave me.” Siwon nods and the room is silent for a little while.
“Why did you always come and wipe away my tears?” Yesung asks, and Siwon smiles at him.
“Because, I knew you were in pain and…I wanted to help you. You never really are alone you know. If you ever need me, I’ll be right here.” Yesung smiled and nodded, and Siwon started to stand. Just as he did, Yesung caught him by the wrist.
“Will you stay, please?” he asks quietly, and adds a small, “I feel a bit lonely.” Siwon nods.
“Sure, I’ll stay.” Yesung couldn’t be happier. He doesn’t cry anymore that night, or any other night, as long as Siwon is there.
