Eunhyuk groaned and rolled over, smiling to himself at his own genius. He would surely get to skip all of the practices for that day. He had a ‘fever’ after all, and no one would force him to practice with a fever. Hankyung walked into his room, coming to call him to breakfast.
“Oh,” groaned Eunhyuk, “I don’t think I can. I don’t feel so good.” Hankyung nodded.
“Okay,” he said, “I’ll call Leeteuk hyung and tell him. Maybe I’ll ask if I can stay here too to take care of you.”
“Oh no,” said Eunhyuk, “you don’t have to do that.” Hankyung shook his head.
“No, don’t be silly, of course I do. I’ll just go call Leeteuk now.” He walked out of the room, and Eunhyuk sighed. His plans weren’t working out quite perfectly, but he smiled none the less. At least he still got to relax all day.
“Okay,” said Hankyung, “he said we can stay. I’ll go make you new breakfast that’ll cure your cold in no time.” Eunhyuk smiled. He wondered what it would be, pancakes, French toast, or waffles. Surely it would be one of those, all drowned in syrup, and delicious. He was anticipating the smell of syrup. Instead, he smelled kimchi. Not five minutes later, Hankyung walked in, carrying a big pan of what looked like red fried rice.
“Here you go!” said Hankyung, “This’ll cure you in no time! It’s my special super spicy kimchi fried rice.” Eunhyuk stared at it.
“I’m not…not really that hungry,” he said.
“Nonsense,” said Hankyung, “it’s good for you! Eat it all up now.” He sat on a chair and stared at Eunhyuk who had gotten a spoonful. He didn’t leave until Eunhyuk had eaten the whole pan. Eunhyuk was starting to regret playing sick though, as he tried to withstand the pain of his burning mouth. He tried to relax though, because it was over, he’d eaten the rice, and nothing could be worse than that.
Then Hankyung came in again.
“Here’s some Chinese herbal medicine. It’ll make you feel better too. It doesn’t taste too good though.” He handed Eunhyuk a cup filled with what looked like mud stew.
“Ew…,” said Eunhyuk.
“I know,” said Hankyung, “but once you drink it you’ll-,”
“No,” said Eunhyuk, “you know what, I’m not really sick. I’ll just call Leeteuk right now and go to practice. I’m sorry Hankyung, really. But I’m not sick, I promise.” From then on, Eunhyuk never pretended to have a ‘fever’ ever again.
