Consumer! CONSUME!

Well, at least I can be Happydog Potatohead here, without anyone trying to figure out who I really am so they can target advertising directly to my name. I took one look at FB and came away.

But FB isn't the whole of the Internet. LJ is a bit of a ghost town these days (like Detroit, maybe) but some of us are still hanging on, still going through the motions. And, yes, it's still a place where you can say whatever the fuck you like.

When I set up my facebook, I didn't use my legal name, (I don't say real name because the name I use is my real name, its just not my legal name). I have tons of friends there and my family is also there, since I finally came out of the closet to them in several things, I feel no real reason to hide it all anymore. I have a legal name facebook which has only family there, and is for the purpose of potential employers, the normal facebook profile is locked down hard and since it doesn't use the name my employers would know, its more of a blind. I want to keep the two worlds separate till I can find work where it no longer matters or I win the lottery...LOL

Thing is, even if I find the artists and writers, and friend them, Facebook decides not to show me their posts. Seriously, I have friended and become a fan of people, and they post away, and FB never shows me what they are up to. Sharon Knight is just one example. Instead Facebook shows me memes, advertisements, glurge and crap that friends of friends had "liked."
