its a new machine at work. personally, i wouldn't buy a mac.

well you seemed rather excited about it, so I thought maybe you'd got one for yourself. But I can see it being cause for excitement after using those ancient G4s for so long.

i don't know why schools would purchase a mac pro. they must be cutting them a major deal or something. they're really for people with more money than sense or people who NEED extreme power.

haha and all i need it for is photoshop, lightroom and webmail and ftp. those specs are overkill!

Very cool, congrats!n There's a program you might want to look for called muCommander, it's sort of a Mac port of the Linux app Midnight Commander. I quite like it for FTP work and was very happy to find it for the Mac.
