I can see why you are irate. That is inexcusable from any employer.
I'd be interested to know the qualifications of the applicant judged a better fit for your job than you are. You might possibly have a grievance if you wanted to go that way.

thanks. apparently, most of the applicants had about 10 years of experience and the person that got my position had 15-20 years... for an entry level position... ugh. yeah my boss also knew that i was trying to get my own job as full time, yet he sent out e-mails to other photographers to tell them to apply too. he's the worst.
