today i swallowed an ice cube. It was a bit painful, but i remember it in the back of my throat and i literally sat there wondering what to do. I could try to cough it up, breathe in so i choke on it, or swallow it. So I swallowed it. It didn't feel too good on the throat but anyway.

Aww, it sounds like your 4th of July was a good one. Yay! It was really weird being somewhere where no one was celebrating it (although I could have sworn that I heard fireworks in the evening, hehe.)
