I take my boards tomorrow morning. For those who don't know, I'm being tested over EVERYTHING nursing related that I have learned in the last two years. If I don't pass, I can't work and I have to wait 3 months to retest. Craptastic. I just feel ill right now. All I have been doing since the wedding (and a good chunk of time before) is studying, ( Read more... )

Don't worry! I studied maybe 10 hours total while my grandpa was dying and I passed in 75 questions in 25 minutes and you're way smarter than me! It's really more about the test and that's what's annoying but it wasn't too bad. You'll do great!

Thanks! But, no, I'm not smarter...just a good faker. :) Do you know what site it is that you can go to and pay to find out your results early?

you can go to www.pearsonvue.com/nclex where you signed up and sign in and get your unofficial results but the DOH posts your license before pearson even posts it and that's free! When's your orientation at SHMC?

August 6th. Right now I have a position with the RRC on the 7th floor (with you!), but they just added a few positions in the NICU and I'm on pretty good terms with the manager there. So, as soon as I find out if I passed, I'm going to give her a call and get my resume over there.

But, GAH, I just want to find out either way.

Ok so it's been awhile since I checked job postings and my dream position is up! I start orientation on Monday - do you think it would be possible/tacky to change now?

You know, I think that as long as you look into it sooner rather than later, it would be fine. Besides, isn't the first part of orientation (computers, hospital policies) going to be the same for all of the units? Plus, with the RRC, I'm sure they expect people to move around. When I interviewed I made it pretty clear that the NICU was my ultimate goal and they all told me that the RRC was a good place to start, but I didn't have to stay there if I didn't want to.
