it's winter: curling & moose are appropriate

we've managed to unpack nearly all of the boxes in our new place the last few days of january. we also visited our first curling match. this is a new to us! it was exciting, if only because it was a new experience. it's a fun combination of shuffleboard, bowling, and... sweeping the floor? hard to describe, but fun indeed. our friend is in the ( Read more... )

oh yes, we have moose! we don't have too many of them though - they aren't a driving hazard like they are in newfoundland. i remember when i was a kid, my dad would make moose burgers, and they were super tasty, but i don't eat red meat anymore, so they are safe from me!

thanks! i wasn't sure with the whole island biogeography and all. nor did i know they were so abundant in newfoundland! gee. i'll have to make it there someday; i've actually always wanted to go to nova scotia too. in my mind it's a very mystical place (i'm picturing lots of fog. and for me fog = mystical?).

i've never eaten moose! i've just never had the opportunity, though my husband's family are avid hunters.

ooh, i love the new colors! i want 10 pendants, cuz they are too adorable. today i had the idea that i should hang my two on my wall as art. silly me. the yellow, cobalt and poppy are so refreshing!

i actually already have the illustration for the fox done! i LOVE foxes. there is some beautiful footage of foxes in 'grizzly man' movie if you haven't seen it.
