Sara's POV

Blue

I dream in blue
because it's the color of your eyes,
the color you wore.
Because it's the way I feel.

I dream in blue
because it's the color of the sky
and the water
where I stand waiting.

I dream in blue
because my fingers trace
a blue devil,
a blue angel,
blueprints
on light skin.

I dream in blue
because
I finally stopped dreaming in red,
red blood,
your blood, his blood
on my hands.

Michael's POV

I Am

I am the man you see behind my eyes.
I am the man smiling at you, for you.
I am the man wanting you, needing you.
…wishing things were different
…wishing my brother didn’t come first
…hoping one day you’ll understand.

Sara's POV when Michael says, "Do you ever wonder..."

I Won’t But I Will

I won't be that woman.
That's what I say.
I tell you a lie
because
I am that woman.
Now. Even now.
And I will be more so.

Just you wait.
You have the time.

Michael's POV after Sara says "I won't be that woman., Michael."

I Wasn’t But I Was

Asking you to be that woman
because
I need you to be
even if you shouldn't.

I got nothing to offer,
nothing but me
and fear
and what if questions
ringing in your ears.
"What if he'd never came?"
"What if I'd stayed the same,
unchanged by a Ghandi quote,
a sideways smile,
tears?"
