Jay and I went to see Looper last night. I loved Looper. I have a few issues with the movie but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. Spoilers under the cut.

Emily Blunt and Katy Perry separated at birth? Yes or No. )

cinema should make you forget

I've often though Katy Perry and Emily Blunt were separated at birth :D

I think the biggest reason I liked the movie is because it is about choice--and how choice impacts others, and how, possibly, choice has nothing to do with it at all. Very interesting. Because of the circular nature of it, we aren't sure which choice precipitated which outcome. There is a lot to ponder and I still want to see it again before I really try to come any possible conclusions.

My sister thought JGL's make-up was distracting, too. It didn't bother me for some reason.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I'm glad you liked it!

I'd never seen Emily Blunt before so I was like, "What?"

Because of the circular nature of it, we aren't sure which choice precipitated which outcome. That's the thing about time travel so I usually turn my brain off a bit when watching stuff that deals with so as not to drive myself crazy. I couldn't do that with this movie because the choice made at the end is so dramatic. I feel like most movies would've tried to figure something out so Young Joe wouldn't have to die. They basically would've taken the easy way out.

Oh, Emily Blunt is DIVINE! I highly recommend any movie with her in it! She's awesome--she's British, and she's married to Jim Halpert in real life! I adore her!

I agree with you--the ending is so STUNNING. Like, seriously. My sister turned to me and was like *DID YOU SEE THAT COMING??* and I totally didn't. It was just SO BRAVE, and SO COOL, and I just loved it. Because obviously I wanted Young Joe to live to prevent Old Joe from being that person who would go and kill children, but the truth is, the only way to prevent it was what Young Joe did. Just, brilliant.

That's where I've heard her name before! It was bugging me. Either that or the 5 Year Engagement.
