There are actually commercials about that concept here, where when the World Cup is going on people all get together in other countries and root for their teams instead of fighting or being disconnected with each other.

really? I mean that's cool and everything, but I remember soccer sometimes being the CAUSE Of many violent clashes between countries etc .. what i'm talking about is a world untied against the aliens :-)

see if one country wins over the other, then there's clashes and all sorts of disruptions .. but if the earth wins against the aliens, then all the earthlings are happy .. unless you hate soccer .. but at least we beat those no good dirty aliens .. YEAH!!
