I've read Tamora Pierce's magic series but not that one. It's on the to read list - which is REALLY long list. Working at a library is not a good thing sometimes, too much ooh shiny there.

I loved Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I thought they did a good job of it. Caspian. hmm.

I've got hooked on Supernatural. Finally. And trying to ignore the thought everytime I watch of Cas/Dean...hmm, that would work.

I started out with "Song of the Lioness" when I was in grade school (obviously, I read it in German...XD)... and then rediscovered it a couple of years ago with my entering Yuletide for the first time, so I bought Song of the Lioness in English on one of my US trips. I re-read, and then when I had time to go through all those second hand book stores on my visit to the States in summer 09, I bought 'Protector of the Small' and 'Circle of Magic'. Those I both read in the last half year and am just about to finish Lady Knight, the last in PotS. I'm probably gonna look for second hand copies of the "Immortals" quartet online soon...

and I know all about long reading lists... XD

As for Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I certainly didn't dislike it! I enjoyed watching it at the time (many 'aww' moments *insert sparkly slash-fangirl sighs here* and I also laughed a lot - oh, Eustace XD XD) but in the end, I just wasn't as enchanted by it as I was by the first movie (I already had that problem with 'Prince Caspian', though). I couldn't really ( ... )

The just finished the last book in the series a few weeks ago and very pleased with the canon ending. It's one of Tamora Pierce's series I haven't read despite strong prodding in that direction. I did send her the link to the Yuletide story.

This was my first time really reading Yuletide fics and oh my god there was a glut of damn good stuff. So much Prachett alone.

I started watching Togainu no Chi and ended up dropping it when Keisuke started using. He and Rin were the reason I kept watching and I really didn't want to watch Keisuke do the downward spiral of an addict. Been there, done that, not interested in it as part of my entertainment.

I assume that 'the kid' finished the series? ^^;;;

and Yuletide has a lot of awesome stories in obscure fandoms, which is why I love it so much. Have you checked the old archive, as well? There's a couple more there, too.

I also found a goldmine for TP fic (a whole archive, to be precise) at
http://thekingsown.org/index.php if you wanna point her there, too. ^_ ( ... )

She'd read all but the last book many times and finally decided that she would try it. She'd had someone, under the guise of friendship, tell her it wasn't worth reading so she hadn't. She's the one who turned me on to Tamora Pierce in the first place.

I totally get what you are saying about Yuletide. It also made me wish for fic in some other fandoms.

hmmm I might have to rewatch at some point knowing that. If it is short term I can handle it. I thought, for some reason, once you were on it that was it.

Omigosh, lady, I just saw your Yuletide email, like, yesterday. *hangs head* I'm so sorry! (Yes, I got a little behind on things over the holidays.) I basically only came home to sleep for about two weeks and, yeah. I'm catching up slowly, now. But I'm sorry! orl

To make up for it --> q_sama

This is my friend from back in the day, and she's very active in Tamora Pierce fandom! She's also a mod over at Goldenlake, which is another place to look for Tamora Pierce fanfic (although there's probably a lot of overlap with The King's Own archive) and make fandom friends.

♥!

XD XD I was wondering what had happened that I didn't even get a response later on... XD *petpet* still, would you mind giving the story a once-over at some point (no hurry)? I can edit as long as I want, so I wouldn't mind eliminating a couple more typos for future readers...

I do know Goldenlake (that's how I found The King's Own archive in the first place) and I've been doing a lot of browsing there. XD

I have, however, found my (almost) perfect dom/kel fic (in The Pit of all places XD XD). it follows canon very closely, but inserts the developing relationship between dom and kel, exactly the way I like it. ♥♥

*snugsnug*

and I'll stalk check out q-sama's lj... *grin*

I'd be happy to look it over for you. :D I'll have time this week--possibly even tomorrow morning. ♥

Yes, q_sama is worth stalking being friends with. :D She was one of my first GW fandom friends, and I like her immensely. Some of her Tamora Pierce stuff is posted under flock, but she's Lisafer at Goldenlake, if that rings any bells for you.

Did I ever tell you about when I met Tamora Pierce? At a book signing in Seattle and I was not ashamed to be the oldest fan there. She signed my copy of The Realms of the Gods, "Girls rock!"

I just started watching anime again (again). Should I stay away from Togainu? Durarara is pretty interesting so far--I'm on the 4th episode and the characters are quite eclectic.
