[kill 03]

Dec 29, 2008 00:43

[Someone knows, and I have no way of knowing exactly how much.]

[Dexter walks slowly along the exterior walkway, slouching a little with his hands in the pockets of his beige pants. He is his usual disgruntled looking self, mostly because he's caught up in his thoughts.]

[The files are cryptic so I'm safe from the other passengers discovering my ( Read more... )

[Glaukir walks along slowly, one hand on the railing and the other hand holding his comm. He's making a mental map of all the decks so that he isn't trapped in his room anymore. It's slow going, and with Erol on the loose it's downright risky...

But what has he got to lose?

The blind priest slowly makes his way towards the silent Dexter.]

[I hate ships I'm not the captain of.]

[Dexter opens his eyes, but stays where he is. He glances to the side, then notices Glaukir; but Dexter does nothing, expression unchanging.]

[He looks depressed.]

[Then, sardonically: There must be something about this deck.]

[Glaukir continues to walk forward, forward, forward--

He runs into Dexter and startles.]

Ah! I beg your pardon! Sorry! I didn't hear you there!

[Glaukir steps back, one hand still on the railing and ducks his head apologetically, waving his hand in apology.]

Are you alright?

[Dexter is also startled, not expecting to be walked into like that. He backs up a bit, keeping his hands in his pockets.]

Oh, uh--

[Blind. He's completely blind.]

[I should really notice these things.]

No, no. I'm fine. Can I help you out, or...?

[That's me. The Good Samaritan.]

[Torn's disappearance had bothered Jared quite a bit; enough to go prowling around the decks with the vague hope that he might find a hint to the man's whereabouts. He'd been searching since yesterday, and the chances of him finding anything were slim at best, but it was something to do.

Oh, an unfamiliar face. Well, it's not like he's met many of the people on this ship, so he hadn't really expected to run into someone he knew.]

Good evening.

Oh!

[Dexter immediately changes his expression.]

Hello.

[Who could this be? This would be an ideal time to match a name to a face.

It's not as if he's having any luck with finding out what happened to Torn...

He keeps a neutral, polite tone for now.]

What brings you out at this time of night?

Oh, just...

[Honesty is the best policy.]

...thinking. What about you, Mr...?

[Dexter walked along the outer deck lost in his own thoughts, staring at the ground in front of him as if it would provide him with the answers he so desperately craved. It was the usual questions that passengers asked of themselves and of others, only on a more cerebral scale; Dexter was actively plotting his escape from the M.S. Elegante once and for all, crippling and destroying the forces that got him there if he could manage it.]

[When he interacted with other passengers, he became instantly fake. The exchanges were always pleasant and seemingly genuine, in attempt to arouse as little suspicion on himself as possible. Dexter weaseled his way through these social situations by coming across as a nice guy, returning to his default when he thought he was alone - disgruntled, plotting... so obviously caged.]

[All the world's a stage, and Dexter? Dexter was a professional actor.]

[And all this while, Dexter was completely unaware of his patient observer.]

Karis is strolling along the deck, claw-tips tapping on the railing as she looks out to sea. She's been stuck here for about a month or so now and she's starting to wonder if she really will be trapped here forever. She glances up and notices Dexter.

Oooh. Newbie.

Karis sidles up to next to him and leans on the railing, "Heya."

(( OOC: I'm sorry I never replied to this, it's just that I have no idea how Dex would react to the undead. It's ineptitude of playing the character on my part, and I apologise. ))
