isn't that hindsight?

for me morality seems to mostly concern protection of women and children and the honour and dignity of men, yet to a well-disposed mind, we might grant every advantage is on the side of the former.. of this we fear, we fear of losing personal power.

while others simply give their power away...

He sees reality as being quite constant and probabilistic: what has gone before should continue to go on. If a lot fewer people in the future keep valuing the protection of women and children and the dignity of men, then ... civilization is in real trouble.
