damn, i just tried reading a fantasy novel called the gods behaving badly by marie phillips

it didn't do anything for me. i found it frivolous..

there was none of the depth of plato nor the candour of catullus, nor ribald rabelais, just a cacopohony of dumb and dumber...

Well, it does seem like a pop-novel, not that there is anything wrong with a fun, light read. If you are hungering for more literary substance dealing with the pagan gods, you cannot beat the original stuff - Homer's Iliad/Odyssey, or Ovid's "Metamorphoss" (vouching for the Mandelbaum translation).
