I think I'm going to give up trying to breastfeed. I went to the breastfeeding clinic and it all went really well. Hazel latched on well and I was told to breastfeed her before each feed. But I have been unable to get her to latch on at all since. I've done everything they showed me to do and she just gets frustrated and starts crying. It also ( Read more... )

:( Aw, try not to get too down honey, just look at your gorgeous little baby and think how lucky you are. Its a bummer having the extra cost but I'm sure it's a small price to pay for a healthy baby.

That's pretty much what the health visitor said. I think breastfeeding just has weird affects on me because of the hormones it produces, and after being so keen to do it before I even conceived, it's a bit dissapointing. But I'm getting over it and at least I've settled on a decision now which helps.

I agree with everything that snufflemuffin says.

You given birth to a beautiful daughter. How could you ever feel anything but wonderment, joy and love? You are a brilliant mum ~ never forget that.

Thank you. I don't know why it affects me so much. I think it's probably got something to do with hormones as well. My older sister went through the same thing and still regrets not being able to breastfeed 13 years later.

But I'm starting to accept it, and besides, it's impossible to stay upset when I look at her becaause she makes such funny faces.
