This evening I decided I'd like to try making snickerdoodle cookies. I've seen them on blogs and thought they sounded really good. I followed a recipe that produces 24 servings, so I thought 24 cookies would be a good amount. I'm guessing the recipe didn't mean 24 cookies since I now have 80! Having been left at the last minute to do everything tonight, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. I also really need to have a shower which I can't do now either. Hazel had her first immunisations today and she was not impressed! She was quite happy until the jags came along, at which point she started crying. She eventually calmed down and is now asleep. I also signed up for the baby massage, which sounds like it'll be very good. It'll also be a chance for us to meet other people ( Read more... ) -

The one thing that makes getting up easier at 8am is opening my eyes to a big gummy smile from Hazel, it's awfully cute! And just so you get the idea, have a cute photo of said baby;

Last night I got a nice suprise when Barry brought Hazel to bed. Not only has she started smiling, she was also copying Barry when he stuck his tongue out at her; it was brilliant! I think she's started making baby noises which is new as well ( Read more... ) -

We have had a pretty busy week. The three of us went to a friend's wedding on Saturday followed by the reception. I was quite nervous about taking Hazel along, but there were two other babies there who were 14 weeks old, so that made me feel a bit better. I am really impressed though, because she behaved amazingly well! The other two had to leave ( Read more... ) -

We've been pretty productive today already and it's only 11am. We had the baby clinic so I had to get up at 8 having not had much sleep. I then got puked on as Hazel brought up her entire feed. On Friday I discovered just how tiring it is to be a lone parent. Barry had a work night out so I had to do more than usual. Emma came round which was nice and we went for a walk, but doing housework and looking after Hazel was quite a lot of work. I think I'm going to give up trying to breastfeed. I went to the breastfeeding clinic and it all went really well. Hazel latched on well and I was told to breastfeed her before each feed. But I have been unable to get her to latch on at all since. I've done everything they showed me to do and she just gets frustrated and starts crying. It also ( Read more... ) -

I really don't know how such a small child can produce so much gas. She farted the entire time I was feeding her, then she let out an almighty burp and fell asleep. All those bodily functions must be tiring work! Annoyingly she's started falling asleep halfway through a feed, so it's difficult to get her to finish. It doesn't help that it's ( Read more... )
