i almost forgot to post this. my worst experience i think i've ever had was about a week ago.....i was working the register at subway, and this lady orders a sandwitch, the total came to 2.14 and she handed me a twenty. i punched in that she handed me a twenty and then she handed me a quarter, i said mamn i already rang it up. to which she ( Read more... )

She didn't judge or label you....you stated the obvious. You OBVIOUSLY couldn't subtract if you needed a calculater. there was no judging, no labeling.

David was judged in a matter of speaking; how did she know he was a highschool student? What if he never learned arithmetic because of some mental-deficiancy or he just wasn't sent to school because of a lack of parents or any numerous reasons. The fact of the matter is, some people are just plain idiots (referring to the woman); I would feel alot more comfortable knowing someone had to pull out a calculator to make sure the change was correct rather than doing some quick arithmetic, getting the change wrong and cheating me out of precious, precious coinage that I could use for gum or possibly to buy another sandwich. He can make change, just it's alot better to use something that has a smaller margin or error just for times sake. He probably figured out the change on the calculator faster than he could have in his brain, a relief to people behind her in line.

Just my two cents (sorry for the length, god, I can't even remember what I typed).
