they used to be alot more.... well alot less emoish. they used to be more fast pace punklike almost. i like earlier stuff. but if u enjoy the sound of emo more than punk then sing the sorrow would be the best cd. my favorite is very proud of you. they have changed alot.

BSITS had very very good lyrics, but almost every song sounded the same. Scream fast, scream fast, scream fast.

STS also had good lyrics but the songs were sad/angry/catchy/slow/whimsical. It's a lot better.

No way jose. The fact that it blended so seamlessly and sounded like one fourty minute song is what made Black Sails so great. That was when they were the most AFI-ish! Thats when the fans fell in love with them. Thats when they defined themselves. All Hallows EP, Black Sails, and Art of Drowning were the top three (sorry to all you old school fans who like answer that and stay fashionable and such)

Not this mediocre joke they produced a year and a half ago. Beleive me, I love sad music with drawn out vocals. My favorite band is Brigth Eyes for christ's sake. But Sing the Sorrow...thats not AFI.

That's why you don't like it? Because "they aren't doing teh afi thing anymore"? That's what people said about Sleeping with Ghosts. "this doesn't sound like them anymore!!" but that doesn't make it a bad cd. Don't know if you care too much for that analogy...

Anyway, the only album I stand to sound like one long track Ok Computer.

i think it depends more on what you are used to listening to. like, if u listen to the cd alot u know not all the songs sound the same but other people who listen to it will think that they all sound the same... now to get way off topic, GODSMACK every song sounds exactly the same to me and same with rap but maybe thats cuz i dont listen to them.

eh, i like all afi, ive never heard the ep though.
