Under the Deep Blue Sea

This quilt is almost finished.  i just need to finish the hand binding on it.

I did this quilt with my quilting classes while on leave.  the pattern is called "The Fabulous Fat Quarter Quilt" by PennyLane Patchwork

The finished quilt in the pattern is a 51 1/2" x 68 1/2" quilt, but i wanted something for our bed so i tweaked it for a queensize

it is huge. i'll have to take a photo when it finally makes it on the bed. It was a real PIA for the quilting. i did a rather open stipling effect for the quiting and trying to get it trough my machine near the middle had me at my wits end, but i love the result

i used a selection of blue and green batiks, with some fossil fern thrown in as well. i think the smokey black borders finish it off nicely without being too harsh.

thanks - i used a selection of batiks and fossil fern. I wanted to get a deep ocean feel to it :) I will happily sleep with this.
The problem is we're in the middle of Summer here, so i may not get to use it for a while!
