Craftiness

I’ve been sick of late and so has Eoin. This of course was for most of my holidays. I had planned to do a bunch of things and finish off some sewing projects, but that didn’t happen as I needed to clear out the craft room first and was too sick for that. But I did manage to do a bit of knitting, as I can at least do that while vege-ing out in front ( Read more... )

The gilet looks awesome, and perfect for the weather you're describing. I really like the hoodie pattern, too. My knitting skills are abysmal...so I'll just have to keep admiring your handiwork. :)

My knitting skills were pretty average until i was working on an isolated site (i worked for a construction company at the time) and we had a spell of bad weather and were stuck at the site huts for about a week. So we all sat around unable to go anywhere and unable to work. I finished of a whole heap of UFOs i'd brought with me, improved my knitting skills and even had the blokes interested in knitting and needlework!

It's nearly finished. I finished all the knitted components last night and started the assembly, although i think i want to rework the collar. I hate to unpick and redo bits but it will annoy me later on if i don't

Having seen you knit first hand, I'm sure you'll be done with the hoodie sweater in no time!

Love the first one. Even the zipper looks amazing.

I've finished all the knitted component and just need to stitch it all together now. I think i'm going to have to unpick the collar though and re do it in slightly larger needles. i just feel it's going to be too tight to pull over his head at that age. I had having to redo stuff, but then it will annoy me later on if i don't

It looks even better on him. The ladies at child care even commented about it. (they know i knit). It was hard to get a match for the zip but i think it does well with the contrast colour. The zip is more of a tan than the collar and cuffs, but it goes well with the flecks of different colours in the main body of the jacket

The hoodie is gorgeous - can't wait to see your version :D I don't know what a gilet is, but it looks fantastic, anyway!

i think a gilet is a fancy name for a sleeveless jacket. It's not a term i've used before but it's what it was called in the book

i think he hid it behind the couch. I'll just have to pull the couch out and have a look. Otherwise i'll just have to wait until it turns up again. He ran off with his dad's bus tickets ($50 worth) and we had no idea where they were, but they reappeared the next week!
